What You’ll Do
As a veterinary receptionist, you’ll be one of the first faces clients and their pets see. You’ll help keep the front desk running smoothly while providing the compassionate, professional service our clients have come to expect.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Greet and welcome clients and patients with a warm, professional attitude
• Answer phone calls, emails, and client questions and direct concerns to the appropriate team member
• Schedule appointments while helping maintain an efficient daily flow
• Check clients in and out and accurately process payments
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
• Provide compassionate and discreet emotional support to clients during difficult or sensitive situations
• Help communicate veterinary recommendations and information clearly to pet owners
• Work closely with the veterinary team to support excellent patient and client care
The ideal Bilingual Veterinary Receptionist will be comfortable communicating with Spanish-speaking clients and helping bridge communication between clients and our veterinary team. For the non-bilingual opening, Spanish fluency is not required.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a veterinary receptionist who is compassionate, calm under pressure, organized, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a busy veterinary hospital. You’ll thrive here if you’re a strong communicator, team player, and self-starter who enjoys learning.
• At least 1 year of veterinary receptionist or veterinary hospital experience required
• Spanish fluency required for the Bilingual Veterinary Receptionist position
• Strong computer and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
• Compassionate approach when supporting clients through various medical outcomes
• Willingness to continue developing your veterinary knowledge and skills
Working in a veterinary hospital means you may encounter unpleasant odors and noises and may be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases.
Whether you want to become a master of your role or grow into your next career opportunity, you’ll have access to virtual and hands-on training and continuing development. If you’re an experienced veterinary receptionist or Bilingual Veterinary Receptionist looking to join a supportive team that truly cares about pets and their people, we’d love to meet you!
