Looma Background
Looma is an in-store digital media platform focused on storytelling, education, and recommendations. Their network of in-store screens helps retailers better modernize and monetize their stores, while enabling brands to tell their story directly at the point of decision. All content that airs on Looma’s network is produced or edited by Relay™, their global network of independent filmmakers, editors, and other creators who specialize in point-of-decision content.
Position Summary
Looma is growing fast. We’re adding new national retailers and expanding with existing partners, and every new program means hundreds or thousands of stores, multiple hardware and install vendors, and a retailer team counting on us to launch on time. The Senior Implementation Manager will own these deployments end to end.
This is a senior, hands-on role. You’ll independently run our largest and most complex rollouts with our most important partners. You won’t just track the plan; you’ll write the playbooks, solve the problems blocking the work, and be the person retailers and vendors trust to get it done. You’ll also own project management as a discipline at Looma, building the program, documentation, and training that let the rest of the team deliver at the same level.
The responsibilities for this role can be split into three primary categories:
• Deployment leadership | 50%
• Hands-on problem solving & partner management | 25%
• Building Looma’s project management practice | 25%
Deployment leadership (50%)
• Own large, multi-site retail deployments end to end, from planning and procurement through install, launch, and handoff to steady-state operations
• Build and maintain integrated project plans spanning hardware procurement, certification, site surveys, installation, device registration, content readiness, and go-live
• Coordinate cross-functional work across Retail Ops, Product & Tech, Sales, and Content, as well as with partners and vendors, so every launch is ready on every front
• Track progress against milestones, surface risks early, and drive decisions to keep deployments on schedule
• Maintain a single source of truth and report clear, concise status to Looma leadership and retail partners
Hands-on problem solving & partner management (25%)
• Roll up your sleeves to clear blockers directly, whether that means troubleshooting an install issue, reworking a timeline, or chasing down a missing approval
• Produce the artifacts a deployment needs: Install guides, store communications, rollout schedules, trackers, and launch readiness checklists
• Serve as a primary point of contact for retailer stakeholders, from store operations and IT to merchandising and corporate leadership
• Manage install, hardware, and logistics vendors, holding them accountable to quality, cost, and timeline
• Travel to stores, retailer offices, and vendor sites (~25%) to oversee pilots, resolve issues in the field, and build relationships
• Capture lessons from every deployment and turn them into improvements for the next one
Building Looma’s project management practice (25%)
• Own project management as a discipline at Looma, defining the standards, tools, and rituals our deployments run on
• Create repeatable playbooks and templates for new-retailer launches, expansions, and hardware refreshes
• Own project management documentation and training, and keep both current as we scale
• Mentor and coach more junior project and implementation team members
• Partner with Retail Ops leadership to improve planning, resourcing, and forecasting across the deployment portfolio
Experience
• 7+ years of project, program, or implementation management experience, including ownership of large, complex deployments
• Track record of leading multi-site physical rollouts (e.g. hardware, fixtures, or technology installed across hundreds of locations), including managing field and install vendors
• Experience working directly with large retail chains or in retail technology / in-store media strongly preferred
• Experience creating project management processes, documentation, or training for a team
• Comfort with project management tools (e.g. Asana) and spreadsheets for planning and tracking
Attributes
• Owner’s mindset | You take full responsibility for outcomes and don’t wait for permission to solve problems
• Calm under pressure | You stay organized and decisive when timelines slip or plans change
• Clear communicator | You write and present crisply to audiences from store associates to retailer executives
• Builder | You enjoy creating structure where little exists and leaving processes better than you found them
• Generous teacher | You make the people around you better and take pride in their growth
• Detail-oriented | Nothing slips through the cracks
• Willing to travel approximately 25% of the time
Structure & Compensation
