As a technical subject matter expert, you will work cross-functionally with Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, Technical Service, and Commercial teams to:
• Develop and optimize conveyor belt products from initial concept through prototype, testing, manufacturing trials, field validation, and commercialization.
• Advance trough and pipe belt performance by optimizing textile reinforcement, carcass construction, strength, flexibility, load support, fatigue resistance, adhesion, tracking, dimensional stability, and splice performance.
• Develop agricultural and engineered solutions by translating customer and application requirements into technically sound product designs and specifications.
• Improve existing belt constructions to enhance durability, reliability, service life, field performance, and overall competitiveness.
• Evaluate textile materials and constructions, including alternative fabrics, reinforcement technologies, and suppliers, to improve product performance, supply security, manufacturability, and cost.
• Develop testing and qualification plans for new materials, constructions, and product improvements, including laboratory testing, production trials, and field validation.
• Support manufacturing and industrialization to ensure new or modified products can be produced safely, consistently, and economically.
• Conduct technical and failure analysis to identify root causes of significant product-performance issues and translate findings into corrective actions and future product improvements.
• Support service materials, including materials associated with belt splicing, repair, reinforcement, installation, and maintenance.
• Lead or support special technical projects, including competitive benchmarking, customer-specific development, product redesign, material qualification, cost optimization, manufacturing transfers, and other strategic initiatives.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
• Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience preferred, particularly in conveyor belt product development, industrial textiles, engineered rubber products, conveyor manufacturing, application engineering, or technical service.
• Direct experience with heavy-duty textile conveyor belts, troughed belts, pipe belts, or related engineered belting applications.
• Textile reinforcement and conveyor belt carcass design
• Industrial fabrics and reinforcement materials
• Rubber-to-textile adhesion and material interaction
• Belt strength, elongation, flexibility, and fatigue
