The role aims to join a team that operates a variety of haul trucks and equipment at OceanaGold’s Haile Gold Mine.
1. Category 1
• Operation of haul trucksOperating productively while maximizing machine life and machine performance
• Ensure the haul truck is operated safely and in accordance with company procedures
• Perform pre-shift inspection and document appropriately
2. Category 2
• Report any operational hazards to the supervisor on shift
• Ensure the haul truck is operated for reliability (O4R)
3 Category 3
• Communicate via 2-way radio
• Assist in mine support activities as necessary
• At least 1 year of experience operating equipment
• Willingness to work night shift
• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
• Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
Knowledge & Core Functional Competencies:
• Excellent problem-solving skills with complex problems, including both definition of the problem and generation and evaluation of solutions.Excellent planning and organizational skills, including goal setting, group performance monitoring, and the ability to modify priorities when necessary to achieve these goalsThe ability to decide from a range of competing options where the outcomes are not entirely predictableEffective written and oral communication skills, and the ability to convince others to co-operator and contribute.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work in both office and operational mining environments.
• Ability to regularly access active mining and processing areas to support operational teams, conduct site visits, investigations, coaching, and workforce engagement activities.
• Ability to walk on uneven terrain, climb stairs and access elevated work areas as required.
• Ability to wear and use mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE).
Licences/Tickets:
• Valid driver’s license.
