Position Summary
The Content Creator for the Mayor’s Office of Communications is responsible for filming and editing high-quality videos that document the Mayor’s engagements, events, and initiatives.
Reporting to the Digital Director, this position plays a pivotal role in visually shaping the public image of the Mayor and the administration by producing compelling videos for official use across digital platforms, publications, press materials, and archival records.

• Film and edit high-quality video content for social media, website, and internal use.
• Collaborate with the Digital Director and communications team to develop creative concepts and storyboards.
• Capture both planned and candid footage at events, press conferences, and community engagements.
• Manage and maintain video equipment, ensuring readiness for shoots.
• Adapt content for multiple platforms (horizontal, vertical, short-form, long-form).
• Archive and organize video assets for easy access and re-use. Required Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge
• Strong understanding of videography principles including lighting, audio, or composition • Advanced knowledge of film equipment.
• Basic knowledge of video-hosting platforms including YouTube and other social media. Skills
• Proficient in video editing software such as Adobe Premier, FinalCut Pro, or other editing software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organization skills.
• Proficient in the operations of cameras and other film equipment. Abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Ability to adapt to changes on short notice.
• Ability to attend events throughout the city, sometimes outside of standard business hours.
• Ability to think creatively and propose original ideas.
• Ability to assess target audiences and adapt content accordingly.
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in videography, media studies, or related field preferred.
At least 3 years of professional videography experience.

Salary Range: 65,000-75,000
